J.B. Weisenfels has lived in rural Arkansas for three decades. She is a writer, a mom, and a graduate student. She is also an avid collector of tacky fish whatnots, slightly chipped teapots, and other old things. In her spare time she enjoys driving to the nearest creek to sit a while. If you were to visit her, she'd try to feed you cornbread.
Trails are an important part of recreation in Arkansas, and you’re going to absolutely adore the one we’re talking about today. Tanyard Creek Nature Trail isn’t the longest or most strenuous trail around, and the waterfall you’ll find there isn’t the tallest, but when it comes to natural beauty and ease, you can’t do much better than Tanyard Creek Nature Trail.
Tanyard Creek Nature Trail is located within the city limits of Bella Vista, and it was built and is maintained by volunteers. The trail is pretty popular, so if you don’t want lots of company, you may want to go during the week.
One of the best things about Tanyard Creek Nature Trail is that it’s short and easy. It’s about 2 miles long and so easy just about anybody can hike it.
It’s probably obvious from the name, but you’ll get stunning views of Tanyard Creek along the way. I’m telling you that partly because I want to show you this picture:
